PARTNERSHIPS

Since 2020, Primordial Multicultural Healing Community promotes initiatives and provides programs and courses around mindfulness meditation, contemplative practices, and somatic (body-based) awareness techniques. We focus on making these practices available to non-dominant cultural groups, especially Latinxs communities.

This work is possible thanks to carefully built partnerships:

LATINO ACADEMY OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

The close collaboration with the Latino Academy of Workforce Development gave birth to the Mindfulness Initiative the first educational program that combines English language learning with the practice of mindfulness.

LATINO HEALTH COUNCIL

Thanks to a long-lasting partnership with the Latino Health Council and NewBridge, we offer a pilot mindfulness course for seniors. Through wisdom circles, we strive to recognize the value and resilience of our community of elders. They, too, can draw on their strengths to adapt to change and enhance their well-being in this stage of their life.

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON

The challenges of being a migrant are often not fully understood and acknowledged by the majority population. In collaboration with Dr. Sarah Short (Brain and Early Experience Lab, Educational Psychology, UW Madison), Primordial aims to create awareness of the stressors of the migration process. This work includes developing accessible materials on the Ulysses Syndrome or Immigrant Syndrome.
